KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 — The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) clinched one out of three main awards at the Medical Travel Media Awards 2020 held virtually tonight.
Bernama was named the Medical Travel Editorial Team of the Year (Malaysia) and received a trophy and RM10,000 cash prize.
Bernama’s Strategic Writing Desk journalist Sakini Mohd Said was nominated in two categories, namely, Best Online Report (Malaysia) and Medical Travel Journalist of the Year (Malaysia).
She was nominated through her series of articles entitled ‘Malaysia A Focal Point for Oncology Services’; ‘Malaysia’s Keyhole Surgery Expertise Gives Child A New Lease of Life’ and ‘Malaysia’s Medical Tourism Sector Seeing Signs of Growth’.
Meanwhile, Suhaila Said was nominated for Best Broadcast Feature (Malaysia) through a news report titled ‘Oncofertility Offers Hope Of Parenthood For Cancer Patients’, while Muhammad Basir Roslan was nominated in Best Online Report (Malaysia) category for his article entitled ‘Resuscitation of Medical Tourism Sector Underway’.
The award organised by the Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council is to recognise journalists and media agencies for their contributions in promoting Malaysia’s medical travel industry.
