KUALA LUMPUR: The World Brands Foundation (TWBF) has acknowledged Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah's leadership and his team's hard work in effectively managing the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.

The Health Ministry was presented with the BrandLaureate Awards' "Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation" today for its success in flattening the Covid-19 curve.

Dr Noor Hisham was also awarded the BrandLaureate "Outstanding Brand Leadership Award 2020".

"On behalf of all frontliners and those who have worked behind the scenes, I wish to convey our deepest gratitude and thanks to TWBF for the recognition bestowed upon the Health Ministry.

"Both of these awards reflect the dedication, commitment, sacrifice and resilience of every individual in the ministry, and various agencies to provide the best healthcare service for the rakyat and the nation," he said on his Facebook page today.

The awards were presented to Dr Noor Hisham by BrandLaureate chairman, Tan Sri Rainer Althoff, at the former's office in Putrajaya today.

Dr Noor Hisham said Malaysia was able to overcome many challenges and obstacles during the unprecedented pandemic by coming together as one.

"Never before have we seen the whole government machinery and society work seamlessly hand in hand for the sake of public health, thus making the tagline 'every sector is a health sector' a reality which others can now emulate."

He also thanked the public for the patience and cooperation given to frontliners and authorities throughout this challenging period.

"Let us continue to ensure our beloved nation emerge victorious in this war against an invisible enemy.

"Kita jaga kita, we take care of our family, our community and our country."
