Malaysia was listed as the “Best Country for Healthcare” from 2015 to 2017 by International Living and listed as “Top Asian Country forRetirement” in 2018. This means people prefer seeking treatment inMalaysia instead of their home countries or other places around theworld. Last year alone, Malaysia received over one million medical travellers, with that number on the rise every year.

These awards were given out by the International Medical TravelJournal (IMTJ), the world's leading journal for the medical travelsector.
This year, we were awarded for having some of the best medical centres:
We were also highly commended in these two categories:

According to Patients Beyond Borders, medical travellers could saveup to 80% on medical expenses, if they opt to do their treatment inMalaysia, which may amount to thousands of ringgit.
Ourcountry's location and infrastructure also make it easy for medicaltravellers to gain access into Malaysia. What's more, they would bereceiving world-class quality treatment from top hospitals accredited by gold-standard organizations such as the Joint Commission International(JCI).

After training, our doctors are also required to spend a compulsoryminimum of three years serving in the public sector before joining theprivate sector. This gives them the experience they need, as well ason-ground interaction with people of all backgrounds.
But whattruly sets Malaysian doctors apart is their hospitality. Due toMalaysia's multiracial society, doctors and medical professionalsunderstand and respect different cultures and needs. In fact, some ofthem are even able to speak in multiple languages including English,Malay, Chinese and Indian dialects. That makes Malaysia a goldendestination for many Southeast Asian medical travellers.

Malaysia's TMC Fertility Centre won 'International Fertility ClinicOf The Year' in the IMTJ Medical Travel Awards 2018. In fact, clinicalpregnancy in Malaysia records a success of one in two fertilitypatients.

Thanks to the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council, an agencyunder the Ministry of Finance and established by the Ministry of Health, our country continues to be positioned as a preferred destination forworld-class healthcare services.
All in all, Malaysia is highly accessible and offers quality care for healthcare travellers seeking affordable treatments. Malaysia's proven track record as the 'Health & Medical Tourism: Destination of the Year' for the past three years also makes our country the perfect spot for medical travellers.
