ITB 2019 – Medical Wellness in Malaysia. Dieses Land hat eine eindrucksvolle Weiterentwicklung im Bereich der Medical Wellness hingelegt und besetzt heute nach China, Japan, Indien, Thailand, Australien, Südkorea und Indonesien den 8. Platz im Asiatisch-Pazifischen Raum. Gerade im letzten Jahr (2018) wurde Malaysia von 1,2 Millionen Touristen besucht.
Frau Azli ( Malaysia – Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Sherene Azli, Healthcare Travel Council) betonte, dass Malaysia heute eine führende Rolle in der Reproduktionstechnologie beziehungsweise Reproduktionsmedizin einnimmt, die es erlaubt, bislang kinderlosen Paaren bei der Befruchtung zu helfen, inklusive des Einsatzes der In-vitro-Fertilisation (IVF).
Eine Bestätigung für das gute malaysische Gesundheitssystem ist der 93-jährige Premier-Minister Mahathir Mohamad höchst selbst, der sein Amt nun schon 40 Jahre lang ausführt. Es ist sein erklärtes Ziel, den medizinischen Tourismus zu einem wichtigen Antriebsmotor der malaysischen Wirtschaft auszubauen.
