KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI) in the interest of knowledge and experience transfers as well as upholding the ethics of practice.The partnership will open doors for knowledge transfer in latest technologies, equipment and expertise through various initiatives and events, leading to the sustainable development of healthcare service offerings in both countries.The MoU was signed in Jakarta yesterday by MHTC chief executive officer, Sherene Azli and IDI president, Prof Dr Ilham Oetama Marsis.Sherene said the collaboration spells out a whole new chapter for Malaysia and Indonesia."Complementing each other’s strength in healthcare, this partnership will enable medical practitioners from both countries to further enhance the quality of healthcare services offered to patients.“This collaboration will enable Indonesian healthcare travellers to gain better understanding of Malaysia Healthcare’s service offerings in these niche fields through a credible medical reference point right at home,” she said in a statement, today.Meanwhile, Malaysia Healthcare will be anchoring the nation’s first healthcare travel campaign – Malaysia Year of Healthcare Travel (MYHT2020) – in 2020.The campaign will encourage healthcare travellers to experience Malaysian healthcare and hospitality.Source: BERNAMA
