In a move to become the world’s leading healthcare tourism destination, the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) launched its “Share My Love” campaign, a continuation of the Malaysia Loves You campaign that was rolled out in February last year.
MHTC collaborated with seven local artists who each produced an art piece which included the symbol of a heart.
The campaign was launched by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam.
The public are welcome to join the campaign by sharing any work of art that includes the symbol of a heart.
Participants who post their “heartworks” online with the hashtag #ShareMyLove and #MyLovesYou will stand a chance to win prizes in the competition.
In an effort to raise global awareness surrounding Malaysia’s warm hospitality through art, MHTC took part in KDU University College’s Free Yourself Carnival.
One of the carnival’s highlights was a craft session in the Designpreneur Lab, where students and visitors made heart-shaped crafts. Later, they posted a photo of their creations on social media.
Participants could choose between folding and decorating origami hearts, or marble-painting heart cut-outs.
“MHTC told us about Share My Love and we loved the concept of using art to tell a story.
“And to the design school, art is a form of communication where people from all backgrounds and cultures can use,” said KDU University College School of Communication and Creative Arts acting head Loo Chong Hang.
“We are giving students the exposure to the importance of health in providing happiness and love.
“If we are healthy, we can make others happy, and that in itself is an act of love,” said Free Yourself Carnival organising team member Preeyaa Savundappan.
Aside from supporting the Share My Love campaign, KDU’s Free Yourself Carnival was aimed at exposing events management students to the industry and gain organisational skills.
The event had numerous booths selling a variety of food, drinks, clothing, trinkets and crafts.
There were also live musical performances throughout the day, and a lucky draw sponsored by MHTC.
