KUALA LUMPUR, 29 October 2026 –  Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), in collaboration with TV3 and Tourism Malaysia, today launched Helo Doktor Tour by MHTC, building on MHTC’s MH Wellness initiative to bring health and wellness engagement closer to communities while raising awareness of Malaysia Healthcare’s capabilities and the country’s medical tourism proposition.

The evolution brings a new dimension to MHTC’s health and wellness engagement by taking conversations beyond the screen and into the expat community. Through TV3’s Helo Doktor platform, the programme connects accessible healthcare content with direct public engagement, giving audiences greater opportunities to learn about healthcare and wellness while discovering the expertise available within Malaysia Healthcare’s network of 91 member hospitals.

The collaboration draws on the distinct strengths of each organisation. MHTC’s leadership in developing and promoting the Malaysia Healthcare brand, TV3’s ability to translate healthcare topics into engaging content and reach audiences through its media platforms, and Tourism Malaysia’s role in showcasing the country’s wider destination offering. This shared effort connects healthcare expertise with public engagement and Malaysia’s tourism experience, reinforcing the country’s positioning as the Preferred Healthcare Destination.

The pilot programme will feature four episodes of Helo Doktor, involving MHTC senior management representatives and MHTC member hospitals. Through health screenings, community engagement and digital television content for TV3, the programme will bring healthcare providers closer to the public while creating opportunities to showcase the services and expertise offered by participating hospitals.

“Helo Doktor Tour by MHTC builds on our MH Wellness initiative and takes our engagement with health and wellness a step further. By bringing together our member hospitals, TV3 and Tourism Malaysia, we can connect the expat community, healthcare travellers and public with relevant healthcare information while showcasing the depth of expertise within Malaysia Healthcare. This is also an opportunity to share a more complete picture of Malaysia as the Preferred Healthcare Destination, where healthcare expertise is complemented by the care and hospitality that define the patient experience.” Said YBhg. Dato’ Suriaghandi Suppiah, CEO of MHTC.

For TV3, the collaboration extends the reach of healthcare content by creating a direct link between what audiences watch and the healthcare conversations they can engage with in their communities.

Farah Shamsudin, Acting Chief Operating Officer of Media Prima Content & TV Networks said, the partnership with MHTC gives Helo Doktor a wider platform to address everyday health concerns while helping audiences better understand the healthcare services available in Malaysia. “Helo Doktor’s strength lies in turning complex health topics into clear, practical information that audiences can relate to. Through the Helo Doktor Tour by MHTC, we are taking this programme into communities, connecting the public, including expatriates, directly with healthcare professionals. By pairing TV3’s reach with direct public engagement, we can encourage informed conversations about health and give Malaysia’s healthcare expertise greater visibility, supporting the growth of medical tourism.

Tourism Malaysia brings the destination dimension to this collaboration, connecting Malaysia Healthcare with the wider experience of visiting Malaysia. For international healthcare travellers and their accompanying families, the journey may also involve accommodation, transport, dining and suitable tourism experiences, depending on individual treatment and recovery needs. By bringing these elements into the wider narrative, the partnership highlights how healthcare and tourism can complement one another in positioning Malaysia as a compelling destination for medical tourism in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026–2027.

Mr Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, said, “Malaysia’s tourism offering extends across its destinations, culture, hospitality and visitor experiences, making Malaysia Beautifully Yours. Through our collaboration with MHTC and Media Prima, we can strengthen awareness of how these offerings complement Malaysia Healthcare’s capabilities, particularly for international visitors seeking healthcare in Malaysia. By connecting healthcare with the wider destination experience, we can present a more holistic picture of Malaysia and support the continued growth of medical tourism in line with the aspirations of Visit Malaysia 2026–2027.”

Anchored in Malaysia Healthcare’s Healing Meets Hospitality narrative, Helo Doktor Tour by MHTC reflects a broader approach to communicating the country’s healthcare proposition: one that brings together healthcare expertise, health and wellness engagement, and the experience of being cared for in Malaysia.

Following its pilot in 2026, Helo Doktor Tour by MHTC will expand nationwide in 2027, extending community engagement to more locations and creating further opportunities for MHTC member hospitals to participate. The programme will also support MHTC’s efforts to strengthen awareness of Malaysia Healthcare among international healthcare travellers, particularly in neighbouring markets, through more targeted engagement and relevant storytelling.

Through this initiative, MHTC, TV3 and Tourism Malaysia aim to build a stronger connection between healthcare information, community engagement and destination promotion, bringing the Malaysia Healthcare story closer to the public while advancing Malaysia’s position as the Preferred Healthcare Destination.
